General Resources

These are some general Invert Zoo resources. Please let me know of any others you think would be useful and I will add them here (tweet to @karencang).

This Guide to Florida, Bahamas and Caribbean Reefs can be useful for identifying some of the live organisms in lab.

Tree of Life Web Project:  The Tree of Life Web Project (ToL) is a collaborative effort of biologists and nature enthusiasts from around the world. On more than 10,000 World Wide Web pages, the project provides information about biodiversity, the characteristics of different groups of organisms, and their evolutionary history (phylogeny).  Definitely check out the ‘root of the tree’, ‘popular pages’, and ‘finding things on the tree of life’.  There is much to explore here!

Evolutionary Biology Digital Dissections Collections:  This wonderful resource at the University of Buffalo, New York contains numerous labelled photographs of external and internal anatomy for representative species in many of the major Invertebrate Phyla. The collection was developed through a collaborative effort of professors, graduate students, librarians, and IT staff at the University of Buffalo.

Creature Cast is a collection of videos about invertebrates and other science topics made by students.  Maybe this will inspire you to make something unique!
